WarrenPeace – Egg Nog Heavy

The visual piece found above is WarrenPeace's latest hip hop music video Egg Nog Heavy. This is what he had to say when we asked:

How did you come up with the idea for this video?

"Well, it's pretty clear the visuals don't have a whole lot to do with the song, which is a very stream-of-consciousness free flowing sort of track. However, when I approached the director Josef Petrous about doing a video, we got to talking about the mood I was in when I wrote the song, which is that lonely, wistful feeling that can set in around the holidays, when you're in a room full of close family but you can still feel alone. He came up with the idea of having me dress like Santa Claus, but turning the character on it's head and showing him during the summertime.
The loose concepts we were trying to convey is that everyone wears a costume in order to fulfill the world's expectations for them, sometimes making themselves sick in the process. Again, we turned the "normal" concept around by showing someone actively trying to gain weight rather than trying to be thin. So he drinks disgusting amounts of eggnog and looks longingly at his shrine of fat people on his bathroom mirror. We wanted it to be alternately funny and gross, and have tons of juxtapositions (after all, my stage name is WarrenPeace)"
